God from the Garden of Eden has always wanted to dwell among his people. When the children of Israel after they accepted the Covenant in Exodus chapter 24 God gave a commandment to Moses while in the mount of Sinai with God to make Him a sanctuary so that He may dwell among them and gave full directions for the construction of the tabernacle Exodus 25:8. Tabernacle and Its services pages 343 Chosen men were especially endowed by God with skill and wisdom for the construction of the sacred building. God Himself gave Moses the plan of that structure, with particular directions as to its size and form, materials to be employed, and every article of furniture which it was to contain. In additional to providing the sanctuary Moses also provided facilities for the Levites who were appointed to minister in Gods sanctuary. God still desires to this day to dwell among His people in a sanctuary that that we can reverently commune and worship Him. Our church has failed short of this reverence because the number and needs for Gods people who want to worship Him has increased. Like in the days of the old God commanded us to make sanctuaries where he can dwell among us and worship him according to his command. Just like in the time of Moses Lusaka Central Church has followed Gods leadership to build Him houses that his people can worship. The church has embarked on three projects to build houses and faculties which will be used for Gods services. The Pastor introduced the project the first Sabbath of second quarter 2010 and Bible study by Elder Chikobe as Haggai theme for this quarter- “To build the houses of the Lord”. Go to the mountains and bring down timber and build the house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored - Haggai 1: 8 (NIV). With God’s blessings the church has undertake to carry out the following projects. Project 1 Church Pastor HouseThe house is located along Raphael Kombe road near Civic Center a walking distance from the church was offered to Lusaka Central Church to house the church pastor. The house gets flooded during rain season because of poor drainage. A survey revealed that the middle of the plot where the house is built has the lowest contour levels as a result rain water from the storm drains collects at this point flooding the house. For this reason renovating would be a waste of money. Description of activity: I. There area will have to be filled with latrite soil to bring the levels to normal, raze and rebuild the house. II. Plans for the main and guest house were completed and submitted to the council for approval. III. The cost for construction of the two houses is estimated at Kwacha six hundred and fifty million. Existing worshiping facilities Lusaka Central Church Pic 1 Existing Main Church Structure Lusaka Central Church was established in 195.., by foreign settlers. After independence, with the spread of the Adventist message, local membership increased; and over the years the Church has grown to a membership of approximately 1,200. Pic 2 Church Hall The increased membership necessitated the introduction of two services; and since 2007, three separate services. This makes the administration and management of Church programmes quite complex.
